Heather Boes
Owner and Head Instructor
Heather Boes is owner and head instructor of Fusion Dance-Carroll. Heather grew up taking classes at Debera's School of Dance, now Fusion Dance, for 18 years. After high school she attended the University of Iowa and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in dance. Also she was a member and co-captain of the University of Iowa Dance Team where she cheered for Hawkeye football and basketball games. After college Heather moved back to her hometown of Carroll and began teaching dance for her mother, Deb, at Debera's School of Dance. Heather has also been coaching the Kuemper KIX Dance Team for the past 25 years, which she herself was a part of in high school. She is also a Board Member of the Iowa State Dance Team Association. In 2010 Heather took ownership of the studio and the name was changed to Fusion Dance-Carroll. Heather's twin sister, Heidi, also owns Fusion Dance-Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. And their younger brother, Justin, owns Fusion Dance-Solana Beach in California. Heather is certified under Dance Masters of America to teach. She is married to Eric and they have five children, Emma, Jadyn, John, Izabelle and Mason. Heather loves her job and teaching the art of dance to others.
Makinze Nichols
Studio Manager & Dance Instructor
Makinze Nichols is from Templeton, Iowa and is heading into her tenth year teaching with Fusion Dance. Makinze has been dancing since the age of three and began her training with Debera's School of Dance, now Fusion Dance-Carroll. Makinze was an assistant instructor for Fusion Dance all through high school. She also spent her high school days dancing on the Kuemper KIX Dance Team. After high school Makinze attended The University of Iowa where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Minor in Business. After college, Makinze moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to pursue a career in dance. She interned with Zenon Dance Company and School, instructed ballet at Larkin Dance Studio and QC Dance, and was a company member with Borealis Dance for two seasons performing throughout the Twin Cities and touring to Hibbing, MN. She is married to Jeff and they have three kids, Paxton, Isla, and Ryland. Makinze is thankful to be a part of the Fusion Family and to share her passion and love for dance with her students!
Mia Nagl
Dance Instructor
Mia Nagl is from Carroll, Iowa, and started her early dance training at Fusion Dance-Carroll at the age of four. She was also a member of the Fusion Dance Competition Team for 10 seasons. Mia was an assistant teacher for Fusion Dance during middle and high school. She graduated from Carroll High School, where she was a member of the Carroll PAWS Dance Team. After high school, Mia continued her education at The University of Iowa where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Journalism. During her time at Iowa, she had the honor of working with numerous professors and choreographers as well as serving as The University of Iowa’s Undergraduate Dance Organization President. Mia will be joining the Fusion Dance staff this year, and is excited to share her knowledge and love of dance with others!
Dani Steinkamp
Dance Instructor
Dani has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She took classes from Debra's School of Dance/Fusion Dance for 15 years and was an assistant teacher for 2 years. While in high school, Dani auditioned for a spot on Dance Caravan. She then traveled with Dance Caravan to four cities where she performed and helped teach dances to kids at the clinics. Dani was also a member of the Kuemper Kix Dance Team all throughout high school. After graduating Dani attended The University of Iowa where she earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology. She currently manages Queen Beans Café in Carroll. Dani is married to Ryan and they have three sons, Lincoln, Rowen, and Rafe.
Jenna Lambertz
Dance Instructor
Jenna danced for 12 years growing up, and was on the Carroll PAWS Dance Team. In highschool she was a part of the All Iowa Honor Dance Team along with the Fusion Dance Competition Team. She continued to teach throughout college at Iowa State University for the DubH Hip Hop Club for 5 years. Jenna was the Technology Director and Cabinet Member for the Club. Jenna is the owner of Lambertz Photography & Design LLC, Ink by Jen, and now The Studio. She's a local lifestyle and wedding photographer. Her services range from photography, branding content, graphic design and marketing. Her passion for creative content is the reason for pursuing all things creative. Jenna also enjoys spending time with her family and has one son, Kayden.
Nicole Bauer
Tumbling Instructor
Nicole Bauer is the new tumbling instructor for Fusion Dance. Nicole is from Willey, Iowa where she started taking gymnastics at the age of 5. In high school, Nicole did competitive gymnastics and was a cheerleader for the Kuemper Knights where she was awarded a spot on the Iowa All State Cheer Team. After high school, Nicole earned a spot as a flyer on the Iowa State Coed Cheerleading Team and continued cheering all four years of college. In her time as a Cyclone Cheerleader, she cheered at many games and events including the Women’s Big Twelve Championship Game, Men’s Sweet 16, and various football games. Nicole was awarded Gameday Cheerleader of the Year for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons. She also competed for ISU at the NCA College Cheerleading Nationals in Daytona Beach, the same competition in the Netflix show “Cheer”. In finishing up her time at Iowa State, Nicole graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and teachers first grade at Kuemper. Nicole is excited to get back into coaching and teaching the younger generation the skillset tumbling can offer.
